Rosemount Fashion Festival & Cargo Bar Present - PUMA SUMMER JAM PARADE
Cargo Bar – Sydney
By Mike Angangan for SQUA.RE
Over the past week; the Sydney Rosemont Fashion Festival hit an un-even plateau of the highs and lows of Australian fashion and design. However, the organisers of the event; IMG Asia Pacific did do something right and that was to their ingenious idea of marketing it to the general public who basically at the end of the day have the buying power to dictate the financial trends within the fashion market as supposed to the industry ‘whores’…and wannabe’s that just tag along for the ride.
But, regardless of the fact – it was PUMA an international brand that showcased its ‘Summer Jam Fashion Parade’; at the ‘crème de la crème of Sydney Trendy Venues which was the ‘Cargo Lounge’ in Cockle Bay Wharf, Sydney that was the highlight for me…
With so many fashion parades and parties at play, it was the magnificent and well-organised machines and its event gurus at ’ The ARC Factory from Sydney who excelled in organising an event that was “out of this world”! In which, they had the perfect collaboration of great music, beautiful & down-to-earth people and the main factor is that the patrons who were there; knew what the event was about and who the main sponsors are. And at the end of the evening, you had people talking about PUMA in which will turn into retail revenue and a sea of PUMA wearers.
The entertaining factor was internationally acclaimed to a point where its invited VIP’s such as AFL Legend and Sydney Swan’s superstar Barry Hall, Fashion Designer; Jonathan Pease and Official Stylist to the Australia’s Next Top Model and the girls from ANTM along with guests and patrons who were all well-healed enjoyed the hip hop sounds of L.A. Based Rapper ‘Lyrics Born’ and the styling’s of ‘So You Think you can Dance’; Nacho Pop.
The fashion factor of the event was blately obvious when you think of PUMA – with its colourful and cutting edge style that is not only practical but; fashionably outrageous, especially on a runway. And the PUMA Models to the extent were like being part of the UN or being part of the old fashion brand; ‘The colours of Benetton’ which was popular back in the 80’s.
Overall, it was a success that can be taken into the 2008 history books of ‘Ultimate Parties & Events’ over Fashion week and to me; “PARTY OF THE WEEK”
